There was a time that I would have stated that my educational journey was difficult, but looking back I would now say it has been full of adventure. The journey has never ended; I continue to learn and gather steam as I keep growing.

Graduating from UCLA meant that I could live beyond the dreams that my family didn’t know that they could dream for me.

The Center for Community College Partnerships (CCCP) provided me with a great network and people who supported me in all of my educational endeavors. I am still impacted by the CCCP program today.

The Native and Pacific Islander Program gave me some of the greatest experiences that I have experienced. I was a part of working with a great team and we did our best for the community and the needs of our members.

Today, I work as the lead program officer for First Nations Development Institute’s California Tribal Fund, where we support California Tribal communities. I am also a tenure-track professor in American Indian Studies at Fullerton College.

CCCP has an intergenerational impact on all communities, Tribal and beyond. In fact, if not for CCCP, I don’t think I would have made it into and through UCLA. I am so grateful.

CCCP is celebrating 25 years of transforming transfer pathways with a campaign to raise $25,000
