PROGRAM
The CCCP Scholars Program is a year-long UC Transfer Prep Program from Summer 2025 through Spring 2026. The goal is to motivate, inform and prepare California community college students to transfer to a baccalaureate degree-granting institution, including selective top-tier research universities such as UCLA.
CCCP Scholars apply for and participate in one of four Summer Experiences. All experiences include an introduction to UC transfer requirements, research, university writing and support programs. Grounded in social justice, a majority focus on the history and resources available to a specific student community, and each experience features a unique opportunity.
STRUCTURE
- One-year commitment
- Attend one summer experience
- Attend one Academy each quarter*: Fall: 10/25/25 | Winter: 01/24/26 | Spring: 04/25/26
- Make contact(s) with a Peer Advisor each quarter*
- Enrollment at a California community college
- Research and apply for at least one scholarship
- Maintain and update contact information
- Report transfer progress each term through UC TAP
- Complete entrance and exit surveys
- Transfer Scholars enrolling at UCLA are expected to enhance the Transfer Receptive Culture by committing 20 volunteer hours per year with CCCP.
*UCLA quarter includes Fall (Sep – Dec), Winter (Jan – Mar) and Spring (Mar – Jun).
Focus
The CCCP Scholars Program is designed for communities who can most benefit from a student centered and social justice grounded program based on educational equity, but welcomes all interested community college students to apply. CCCP Scholars must be new, continuing or returning California community colleges students enrolling for Fall 2025 who may be:
- The first in their family to go to college.
- From a low-income background.
- Non-traditional students, having faced challenges in their academic career.
- From underserved communities.
- Part of California’s higher education equity plans.
- Have recently graduated from high school and plan to enroll in a community college in the fall.
- Students currently attending community college who have not yet completed a transfer curriculum at the time of application.
- Show potential for transfer success!
Summer Experiences
Summer Intensive Transfer Experience Plus (SITE Plus)
Six-week in-person commuter experience. On Tuesday & Thursday, students attend a UCLA Summer Session course in the morning (exact times vary by course), followed by mandatory transfer prep activities and equity discussions from 2-6 PM. Students will receive individual advising on the UC application and personal insight questions, introduction to research, university writing and support programs.
Selection Criteria:
- UC-Transferable GPA: 3.0+ by last completed term
- UC-Transferable Units: 30+ by Spring 2025
- UC-Transferable English Composition completed by Spring 2025
- UC-Transferable Math completed by Spring 2026
- Intended transfer term: Fall 2026

STEM Summer Intensive Transfer Experience (STEM SITE)
Three-day residential summer program hosted at the UCLA residential halls. Students will engage with undergraduate research opportunities, explore various STEM resources and student support programs, and benefit from year-long personalized intersectional peer advising provided by current UCLA STEM transfer students.
Selection Criteria:
- UC-Transferable GPA: 3.0+ by last completed term
- UC-Transferable Units: 30+ by Spring 2025
- UC-Transferable English Composition completed by Spring 2025
- UC-Transferable Math completed by Spring 2026
- Intended transfer term: Fall 2026

Summer Intensive Transfer Experience Lite (SITE LITE)
One-day experience at UCLA. Students learn to navigate the community college to transfer to the University of California. Introduction to the CCCP Scholars Program, transfer requirements, educational pipeline, peer advisor lead talking circles, community specific transfer presenters/panels, campus tour, and tips for success at the community college.
Selection Criteria: Open to high school seniors planning to enroll at a community college in Fall 2025 AND continuing community college students.

Online synchronous experience. Focus on communities, educational pipelines and creating culturally-affirming spaces. Includes the option to participate in multiple webinars.

Academic Year
After completing a Summer Experience, CCCP Scholars have access to support for the duration of the program until the end of spring.
*UCLA quarter includes Fall (Sep – Dec), Winter (Jan – Mar) and Spring (Mar – Jun).
By the UCLA fall quarter,* CCCP Scholars are assigned a CCCP Peer Advisor who will them-, fem- or mentor them for the academic year. A Peer Advisor is a current UCLA student who is also a community college transfer student or ally. Scholars are required to contact their Peer Advisor each quarter.*
