Peer Advisor Job Openings
Qualifications
Required
- Be a current UCLA student in good academic standing.
- Be familiar with the transfer process, UCLA and community college resources.
- Have outstanding leadership, self-initiative and multi-tasking skills.
- Be able to work well with others in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Be able to work some evenings and weekends.
- Be able to attend weekly staff meetings.
- Must have a form of transportation (vehicle or public transit) to make weekly visits to assigned community college. Expectations will be in-person or hybrid depending on the needs of the respective community college.
- If employed, must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check since the position is a critical designated position in accordance with UC Personnel Staff Policies 21.
- Must be eligible to work in the summer (undergraduate and graduate students who will be graduating in Spring 2023 and not returning to complete coursework in Summer 2023, or AY 2023-2024, are NOT eligible to apply).
Preferred
- Work-study.
- California Community College transfer student experience.
- One year of UCLA experience or CCCP student staff experience (depending on position).

- What is the role of community colleges in diversifying higher education?
- Discuss key skills that you possess that will make our team work more effectively.
- What specific concerns do transfer students have and how would you address them?

Newly admitted students who have submitted their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) for the Fall will not see the application until after June 1st.

With a team, develop and implement a six-week commuter experience for a cohort of participants taking a UCLA Summer Session A course.

With a team, develop and implement a one-day commuter experience for a cohort of participants.
P2TT-W Peer Advisor:

With a team, develop and implement a one-day webinar experience for a cohort of participants.
Application and Data Support: all summer
Support with processing applications and updating and maintaining a database.

Peer Advisor
With a Program Coordinator, provide support to a cohort of students at an assigned community college.
Office Assistant
Assist the general office and all other projects.
CCCP Scholars Program Assistant
Assist in developing and implementing Academies and other activities and updating and maintaining a database.
Communications Assistant
Assist with creating publications and managing social media platforms.
Events Coordinator
Coordinate and implement events hosted by the center.
High School Coordinator
Coordinate and implement high school outreach efforts.
Community Peer Advisor
Provide support to a cohort of students from a particular community:
- Native American

STEM Peer Advisor
Provide support to a cohort of students pursuing a STEM major.
